At Tracy Community Church we have committed ourselves to Biblical
principles of life in the Spirit which, we trust, will constantly express itself in such a
way as to insure those who attend here the following:
"Our freedom to worship will never surrender to
fanaticism." We are forthright and expressive in our worship, but we
differentiate between the sound of praise and the noise of people. We worship in
spirit with liberty, but in concert under leadership.
"Our openness to one another will never exploit anyone."
Our fellowship springs from our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. True
fellowship involves unconditional love and acceptance that is non-manipulative.
"Our welcome Spiritual gifts will never violate the Word of
God." We invite the Holy Spirit to be present with us here and
distribute gifts among us according to His will. We are desirous of their manifestation,
but a graciousness in ministry, submissiveness in spirit, and orderliness in operation of
the gifts is Scriptural. We insist upon this in this assembly.
"Our joyousness will never degenerate to mere
excitability." We believe that childlike simplicity and faith, which
is neither childishness or glib emotionalism is a far better pattern to worship expression
than the pomp and pride of social religion. We choose to worship and serve the Lord in
thoughtful, considerate, joyous freedom.
"Our instruction in
God's Word will never violate precise Biblical doctrine and careful Biblical
exegesis." Biblical integrity and authority is undermined when
personal (subjective) experience is sought more than an objective understanding of the
Scripture. The Truth is to be experienced and the result is freedom in life (John 8:32),
but only when it is rightly understood and then surrendered to obediently as the supreme,
authoritative, divine guideline for living.
